A small studio like us could be more personal to your child.

A small studio like us - focusing on creativity could be more personal to your child.

Our lessons are thoughtfully designed to remain flexible, allowing the class to adapt to your child’s ideas and interests - making the experience in the class more personal, creative, and meaningful to your child.

The more your child engages in here, the more their creativity and confidence will grow — and the skills will naturally follow along.

(such as problem-solving and common art skills)

From my past working experience, I’ve found that in larger studios often offer pre-designed plans where students are expected to follow a fixed structure.

This can be great for teenagers who want to refine their technical drawing skills, yet what we focused on here is different.

When children are used to following step-by-step instructions from a teacher, they often say “I don’t know” when given the freedom to create.

So I have conversations with them around:

– What do you like?

– What would you like to make?

– How can you make it with the skills we practice in the class?

This process helps open their mind like an artist — not just follow me to copy a nice drawing or a sculpture.

Take the mindset home.

Let your child take the lead in art — not just follow a teacher’s recipe at all times.

If you have a creative one at home, our studio might be their new favourite place.

I’ve worked in quite a few art studios, but most of them didn’t quite align with my values and expectations—until the last one, a creativity-focused studio based in Killara.

Their philosophy of art education resonated deeply with me. I learned so much there and have carried many of the core ideas into my own studio.

Back in university, as a Fine Art major, our professors often told us to stop showing off techniques and instead - focus on thinking and expressing ourselves.

Art skills helps in art creation, yet it's your mind that makes your artwork stand out.

I hope that as children grow, they’ll come to see that while refined drawing skills are admired by many, their own mind (creativity) is just as precious too.

I’ll keep passing on this philosophy to everyone who finds their way here.
